Mark Wakefield Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 8, 2020.
On Saturday, December 28, 2019, Mark Wakefield, loving brother and uncle passed away at the age of 56. Mark was born on May 28, 1963 in Long Beach, CA to James and Lois Wakefield. He graduated from Cypress High School. He worked as a delivery driver in his brother's pipeline materials supply company, which wasn't so much as work to him due to his fondness for driving, even in traffic. Mark had a passion for writing poetry as well as sports. He wrote poems day and night, often late into the night. He loved sharing his writings with everyone, often using his friends and loved ones for subject matter. However his favorite subjet was by far and away the Lord; the strengh of his faith knew no limits. Mark also shared a more secular love for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a die hard fan through good times and bad. Mark was simply just a loving, kind, and gentle soul; one who literally did not know how to be angry. Mark was preceded in death by his parents Lois and James Allen, as well as his brother Teddy. He is survived by his brother James Byron, his sister-in-law Sherri, his niece and nephew Emily and Matthew. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Janurary 14th at 10:30am at Forest Lawn Cypress. A visitation will be held Monday, Janurary 13th from 5-9pm at Forest Lawn.
