Martha (Marti) Booth Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 30, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Martha (Marti) Lou Booth (Ellington), aged 83, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, in Akron.

Born on April 3, 1942, in Indianola, MS, Marti spent her childhood exploring the Mississippi Delta before relocating with her family to Akron, Ohio, later graduating from East High School. Marti and her husband, Donald S. Booth (deceased), who served in the Army, spent time in New York City and Berlin, Germany during the early 1960s. Marti had three children: Donald (deceased), Robert, and John.

Marti returned to Akron, becoming a real estate broker, owning and managing real estate companies in the Akron and Cuyahoga Falls area. Marti was a Realtor Emeritus, a member of the Akron Board of Realtors, the Ohio Board of Realtors, and the National Board of Realtors. She worked on many committees for these organizations.

Marti was very passionate and loved helping home buyers acquire their first home. She also worked with many local immigrant groups, teaching them how to purchase a first home. She worked with area builders on several new developments in Akron and Tallmadge. During her career, Marti helped thousands of people purchase a home. Caring for and providing housing for those in need was her ultimate passion.

Marti is survived by her children: Robert (Bob) and his wife, Andrea; John (Ken) and his wife, Judy; five grandchildren, Joshua (wife Emily), Austin, Bailey, Jacob, and Katelyn; and her three beloved great-grandchildren, Weston, Oren, and Ever.
