Martha MTEBE Obituary
(nee Mackeja)
After a brief illness on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of Dr. Michael Mtebe. Loving mother of Liliane Sykes Kwofie (Dr. Sam Kwofie) of Ottawa, Meki Mtebe of Australia, William Mtebe of Boston and Mamile Mtebe of Ottawa. Cherished grandmother "Bibi" of Nanakarina, Kweku, Abbas, Selekwa, Mandela, Amani, Kabisi and Mackeja. Dear sister of Janet Bina Kahama (Hon. George Kahama) of Tanzania. Martha Jane will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins in Tanzania, Canada and around the world, as well as, many members in the Tanzania community in Ottawa who regarded her as a mother. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the dedicated team of the Ottawa General Hospital Cancer clinic, to the Tanzanian and Ghanaian communities of Ottawa and other friends for their support and prayers. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) on Friday, September 21 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 1758 Alta Vista Drive, Saturday at 11 a.m. For those wishing donations may be made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre.
