Martin Bromberg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 20 to Feb. 25, 2018.
BROMBERG, MARTIN Martin Edmund "Marty" Bromberg, 58, of Bay City, our devoted, caring, and most giving husband, father, recent grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life unexpectedly on Friday, February 16, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region. Marty was born in Bay City on December 24, 1959, the son of Peter and Patricia (Surman) Bromberg and was a 1978 graduate of Bay City Central. After being set up on a blind date by mutual friends, Marty dated, fell in love, and was united in marriage to the former Terri Zielinski. Their marriage was blessed with 34 years, two children, and countless memories. Throughout life, Marty was known for his strong work ethic. He was employed at Larson's Salvage for 39 years and was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. When not enjoying the outdoors, Marty could be found tinkering in his garage with just about everything. Marty was always there for both family and friends, and will forever be remembered for his heart that was larger than life. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Terri and their two children, Michael B. (Krista) Bromberg and Katie Lynn Bromberg (fiance, Tyler Martin). Marty was the loving grandfather of Brooklyn Kay Bromberg and will forever be missed by his mother, Patricia Bromberg and brother, Michael P. Bromberg. Also surviving are his father and mother-in-law, Thomas & Diane Zielinski and his in-laws, Thomas Zielinski, Jr., Colleen (Bruce) Laskey, Shelley (T.D.) Duncan, along with his nephews and nieces, Ryan, Lauren, and Emma Zielinski; Justin, Joshua, and Jeremy Laskey; Alicia, Ashlyn, and Abigail Ball, and Tommy Duncan. Marty was welcomed home to heaven by his father, Peter and sister, Karen Bromberg. In accordance with Marty's wishes, there will be no public ceremony. The Rite of Committal will be held privately in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.

To say Bob and I were shocked there are no words. We are very sorry for your loss and Marty will be missed not only for your family and friends, but for all the people he helped at Larson's! He was always quick with either a joke or a snappy come back, if you happened to be teasing him. Again so very sorry for your loss he will be missed.

I didn't know Marty personally, but knew him from the store as a friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable professional. I've always thought of Larson's as one of those uniquely Bay City institutions that gives the city some of it's old fashioned hometown charm. Many like Normans and Mill End are gone. So long Martin Bromberg. You're gone too soon and we'll miss you.

Dear Michael and the Bromberg family.
I am shocked and saddened to learn of Marty's passing.
He was great guy and I enjoyed visiting him at Larson's whether I was buying something or not.
I am going to miss him as I'm sure you will as well.
Please accept my sincere sympathy as you grieve you loss.

To teri mike and the whole bromberg family my deepest sympathy.Marty was a businessman who took care of somebodys elses business as if it was his own. He knew every inch nook and cranny of larsons and what it contained. He was the go to guy for bay city's victorian home repair, that hinge, door lock or knob, that color of paint, that rope or.grass seed ..you knew that you got all the needed accessories at great prices with marty's, then marty and mikes expert customer service. It was a joy to stop by, look for needed items, always have a great conversation about life, projects, and up north, always leaving with a new good joke in your head and a smile on your face.Marty you will be truly missedGod blessJeff michalski

When someone we love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. Therefore, cherish the times spent with loved ones-draw strength from the love of family and friends-and may God's word and his loyal love comfort you and help you through this difficult time. Psalms 119:50,76
