Age 78, of Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Noble St. in Shadyside. Beloved husband of 59 years of Rose (Coda) Griffin; loving father of Barbara Buchwach, Martin Griffin, Jr. (Kristine), Maria Givens (John), Sandra Treser (Scott) and Christopher Griffin (Anne); loving Pops of Dan (Cristin), Matthew, Leah, Sophia, Chloe, Vincent, Coleman, Nicholas, Tyler, Sarah, Anna, Maura, Christopher, Caroline and Thomas; loving great-Pops of Miles and Will; beloved son of the late Matthew and Delia (O'Donnell) Griffin; beloved brother of Norma Gula, Michael Griffin (Nancy) and the late William (Carole), Thomas (Fran) and Matthew Griffin (Donna); also loved by Beau and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends welcome Sunday 2-8 p.m. WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. 15220, (412-563-2800). Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Grace Church Monday 10 a.m. Private interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Condolences to Rosemary, all the Griffin children, and Beau. You were my next-door neighbors on Noble Street, and you made me feel welcome to the neighborhood from the very first day. It was an amazing experience watching the family grow up, and you spread happiness and warmth thru the entire neighborhood.
I'm so glad we were able to say hello, however briefly, when you came back to the neighborhood to visit. I have many fond memories from the years we we together on Noble Street.
For me, Marty Sr and Rosemary and all the children will be forever young and fun in my mind and heart.
