MADAWASKA - Martine M. Clavette, 82, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 15, 2015 at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick on June 10, 1932, daughter of the late Eddy and Gertrude (Guerrette) Martin. Martine was an avid bowler, enjoyed arts and crafts, cooking for her family and friends, and spending time in her flower garden. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty two years, Aurele Clavette of Madawaska; two daughters, Nancy Bolle and her husband Bertus of Windsor, CT, Joan Chasse and her husband Robert of Frenchville; one son, James "Jim" Clavette of Madawaska; three grandchildren, Lisa Chasse of Portland, April Chasse and her companion Dana Beaulieu of Madawaska, and Scott Chasse also of Madawaska; one great grandchild, Nevaeh Chasse of Wallagrass; two sisters, Claudette Martin of Claire, New Brunswick, Jacqueline Martin of Edmundston, New Brunswick; three brothers, Rino Martin of Sept Isles, PQ, Gerald Martin and his wife Odette also of Sept Isles, PQ, and Joseph Martin and his wife Rose Mary of Fort Kent; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 9am until 10:45am on Thursday before the funeral service. Contributions in Martine's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 383 US Route 1, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074. Interment will be held in the Parish Cemetery later in the spring.
