Grandma Brown gave the gift of cooking. She wasn't only concerned at the main entrée but also included in her handwritten notes how to manage the left overs (if you had them).

Grandma Brown's Pot Roast

4 to 5 lbs. Chuck Roast ....Sear in pan on top of the stove then throw in as many potatoes and carrots as you want!
Put in 1/2 cups of water
Cover with dry onion soup (1 package) (Lipton is the best)
Seal tightly with heavy foil and bake at 350 for three hours or until tender

Leftovers:
1. Cut up leftovers and add green beans, peas etc. Add more potatoes.
2. Leftover soup. Make the onion soup as directed on package but add more water if necessary and cook in pot on stove top.

Thank you Grandma Brown. While a seemingly easy recipe after 30 plus years I still can't make mine taste as good as yours, but I will keep trying.

All our Love
