Mary Buttl

BUTTL, Mary (nee Welacky) It is with profound sadness that we announce Mary's passing on Sunday, July 26, 2009. She was a proud and loving wife to Frank for 56 years and a devoted mother to Monica and Warren Kennedy, Brenda and Paul Remark, and Douglas and Monica Buttl. Mary was adored by her seven grandchildren: Trevor, Brianne, Andrea, Monica, Rita, Marshall, and Joshua. She is also survived by her two dear sisters-in-law Mary Wilhelm and Julia Banda, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Nick and Julia Welacky, and two brothers Johnny and Leslie. Mary was an active member of St. Michael's Parish and the C.W.L. in Leamington. She was an avid reader and she took great pride in the fact that her grandchildren inherited her "thirst for knowledge." Mary loved to quilt and knit. Her slippers are famous and enjoyed by her family and many dear friends. Mary's greatest gift was her love. She loved generously and openly. Her husband and her children were her pride and her grandchildren were her joy. Her deep faith allowed her peace and gave her the confidence of a joyful Welacky homecoming. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519) 326-2631, on Tuesday 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. then to St. Michael's Church, 21 Elliott Street, Leamington, for visiting on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass to celebrate Mary's life at 10 a.m. Interment Erie Memorial Gardens Leamington.
