Graveside service for Mary Eva Lyon Carroll, 90 years of age of Whitehouse, TX, will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 10:00 am at Ebenezer Cemetery with Rev. Jason White officiating, under the direction of Jackson’s Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.
Mary Carroll passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Heights of Tyler Nursing Home in Tyler, Texas.
Mary was born August 19, 1932 in Oklahoma to Augustus Fred Lyon and Lillie Clarine Lyon.
Mary’s family moved to Sinclair Camp in Arp, TX shortly after she was born. She graduated from Arp High School at the age of 15 and went on to Tyler Junior College where she was an Apache Bell for 2 years. She married James Lee Carroll on February 10, 1950, they were married until his death in 2005. They had two children David Lee Carroll and Cathey Sue Carroll McCoy .
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Clarine Lyon; husband James Lee Carroll; granddaughter, Amy Carroll Beltran; brothers Freddie Lyon, Floyd Lyon and Terry Lyon; sister Betty Lyon Sadler.
Mary is survived by a son David Lee Carroll & wife Doye Carroll; a daughter Cathey Sue McCoy and husband Cliff McCoy. Sister Gloria Lyon Clements; Grandchildren, Clint Carroll, Jason McCoy & Jessica McCoy Edelman. Great- grandchildren, Mario Beltran, Sydney Beltran Fortune, Sara Beltran, Colten Edelman, Lara Grace McCoy, Emma McCoy and Charlotte McCoy. Great-great-grandson Christopher Fortune. Numerous nieces and nephews.

As Mary’s children we feel very blessed to have been born into the Lyon family. We have many fond memories growing up going to our grandparents and being with all of our cousins.
