Mary Drake Obituary

Mashpee - Mary H. Drake, 89, of Mashpee, formerly of Cohasset, passed away peacefully at the Newfield House in Plymouth on April 25, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard C. Drake.

Mary graduated from Quincy High School. She received her Associates degree from Boston University. While in college she became the first freshman cheerleader to make the team. She enjoyed reading, music, watching the New England Patriots, and spending time with her book club on Cape Cod. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mary is survived by five children, Richard Drake of Nokomis, FL, Kevin Drake and wife Renee of Lone Tree, Colorado, Robert Drake and fiancé Suzanne of Plymouth, MA, David Drake of Carver, MA, Karen Mary Drake-Yeager and husband Robert of Fallbrook, CA, nine grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Chapman Funerals and Cremations 74 Algonquin Ave. (Rte 151) Mashpee, on Thursday May 9, 2024 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Church 5 Job's Fishing Rd. Mashpee on Friday May 10, 2024 at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Mount Wollaston Cemetery in Quincy at 1:00pm. In lie of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital P.O. Box 1999 Memphis, TN, 38101.
