Mary Jane Gavenas, 80, passed away in her home at Almost Home, ALF in Spring Hill, FL on November 21, 2018. She was born in Danville, IL on March 6th, 1938 to the late Melvin H. Johnson and Louise M. Johnson. She was an only child and a 1956 graduate from Monroe High School in Monroe, WI.

Mary was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and very special to all that knew her. She married Roger L. Plate in 1957 and Robert A. Gavenas in 1998. Both proceeded her in death.

Mary is survived by her two daughters, Beth Hammer and her husband Mark, Jodi Parresol and her husband Eric, five grandchildren Kendra Hammer, Alex Hammer and his wife Meg, Kursten Nash and her husband Cory, Melissa Parresol and Laura Parresol and two great-grandchildren Emma and Lyla Nash.

Private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hernando County Hospice Care Center or your Local Hospice Care Center.

Our sincerest condolences to the Gavenas family. Mary will be missed by all who new her, she had such a sweet spirit. I think about her and Daisy each time I pass by her house here in the Cascades. We loved having her as a neighbor.
