Dear Nan. I miss our weekly visits and watching Tipping Point and the Chase. I miss the way you and Lorraine had the same discussions in Tesco. I am glad you got to meet your Great Grand Children including my Tom, Dan and little Holly-Amber. Don't worry madam will be in your favourite pinkest dress tomorrow to say goodbye. Sleep tight now you are with the Love of your life. All our Love Nicole, Richard, Thomas, Daniel and Holly-Amber ♡♡♡♡

Me and my grandma on my lone adventure to Banbury. I felt so cool that we were on the front page of the paper together. Thanks again for the best summer ever and all the memories. LOVE YOU!

When I was ten years old I got to spend the entire summer in England with my grandma. Just her and I. No parents or siblings. Yeah, I felt super cool. My job each morning was to change the date on this little calendar thing she had. I prided myself on this little task. A few years ago she asked what I wanted when she passed. I told that calendar thing was all I wanted as it reminded me of the best summer I've ever had. I mean, I even made the front page of the Banbury Guardian that summer! She took me up north to meet more of my family and man did she spoil me rotten that summer! I continued to see her almost every summer until life just happened. Crohns disease, medical cost, etc... just made it harder and harder to get across the pond. As much as I regret not seeing her for about 9 years I have a lifetime of memories with her. You will be missed by many grandma. Love you always.

BattleAxe

I sit here with tears in my eyes knowing I will not be there to honor you and what you have accomplished throughout your life and especially what you have given Esme and me. For me. the most important thing you did was giving me your daughter for my wife. Truth be known, I know you told Esme to NEVER bring home one of those Yanks, and marry them, well she listened to you some what she did not bring me home till we got married. I stole her from you at first, but then after we were married for about a year you, Mick and Norma came to visit us in North Carolina. After getting to know each other and you seeing how happy we were you told Esme if this marriage does not work out it won't be Ed's fault! That was probably the best thing I have ever heard in my life, what I heard was your blessing of our marriage. You made me SO HAPPY!

You know why I called you a BattleAxe we talked about it but I better explain to your friends and relatives there. Esme's Mum was a Battle Axe in my eyes because she was so tough. Living through World War II, losing her husband so early (I know if i would have lost Esme so early I would not have been so strong and brave), but still being able to make precious memories for her children in the hardest of times I envy her sooooooo much. Esme is so proud of her when we talk about how she always managed to make Christmas the best ever. Esme would often say she did not realize at the time what all her Mum gave up to make those Christmas's special.

I'm so happy Esme was able have you so long and visit you, it was so special to her, it was her(our) top priority to have you two together so that the both of you could share your memories with each other.

So Battle Axe, not sure what it really means in most people's eyes, but when I have and will continue to describe Esme's Mom, I will alway say in the most loving and respectful way she was a BattleAxe and I can only wish my children, their spouses and children think so much of me as I think of Esme's Mum.

Rest In Peace Mum, and thank you for making my life worth living in so many ways

Ed,
The Yank who was not supposed to steal your daughter's heart... but, ha ha I did!!!
