To Our Harwick Family:

I met Beth almost 15 years ago, right after I started dating her cousin, Rob.

I was self-conscious and uncertain about meeting the extended family, but within the first few minutes, Beth made me feel welcomed.

She was blessed with a generous spirit and a good heart, and we were blessed to know her. Her presence in this world will truly be missed.

Although she never had the opportunity to meet her newest second cousin, our son will grow up hearing memories of Beth (and of the other beloved relatives who are no longer with us). And he will know, as do his father and I, what a wonderful person she was.

Our love and our prayers are with you all, always.

Mary,

When a life is taken at so young an age, the purpose is not so easily seen, understood nor accepted. You are a woman of courage and faith. I know that Beth will live on in your life and her spirit will be an ever-lasting source of energy and emotional support for you. May you always feel the love of her presence in your life and may that love bring you comfort now and in the days ahead.

Mr. and Mrs. Harwick:

I remember Beth from the 1970's when I competed for Dormont Track Club and Keystone Oaks High School. My teammates were always impressed with Beth's extraordinary race-walking skills. I can picture her now in her races.

My sympathy to you and your family. Reading Beth's accomplishments over the course of her lifetime should always make you be very proud of your daughter. I received an e-mail from my mother today informing me of her passing.

May she always look down and watch over us until we will someday be with her.

It’s times like these in which we all wish we could have one last day or one last chat. Your daughter was a wonderful woman whom touched the lives of more than you will ever know. Gold Medal Camp will never be the same without her grace. Those who knew her even closer were blessed. She will be greatly missed, and never forgotten. God Bless.

Dear John, Mary, Barry and Bob,

We grieve and share your loss. In an instant, Beth was sent to heaven. We are sorry that we are not able to be with you and support you at this time. If there is anything we can do, please let us know.

We watched as Beth matured from a champion racewalker in her teens to a dedicated and caring teacher. We know Beth was devoted to her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Mom and daughter enjoyed taking vacations together every year to exotic places. It will be especially difficult when Beth won’t be there at the West Penn Track Club events.

We will remember the time when Beth competed in a championship racewalking event when her shoe came off. As Beth was completing laps on the track, we laughed as family members tried to get Beth to “walk” into her shoe. Beth did her best to ignore all the commotion and continued to racewalk with one shoe off and win the event.

We will miss you Beth.

Love,

Linda/Ken Krynski

To the Harwicks;

I was shocked to hear of "Aunt Beth's" passing. She was a warm and loving person who shared her life with you all. I had the pleasure of meeting her several years ago when she volunteered to join with our girl scout troop at Oglebay Park. She was wonderful with all of the girls, and a great help too. Since, my daughter and I have enjoyed her company several times. We miss you Beth - you were an exceptionally special and loving person.
