Mary F. (White) Hastings, of Briantree, died December 1, 2013. Mary attended Archbishop Williams High School with a scholarship and was part of the first graduating class in 1953. Mary was a member of the Braintree Red Hat Society. She and her husband enjoyed spending time at their home in New Hampshire and going for boat rides with family and friends. Mary's main passion was her family and spending time with those she loved, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed. Beloved wife of Hugh J. Hastings, Jr. of Braintree. Daughter of the late Joseph J and Marie B. (Sullivan) White of Weymouth. Loving sister of Anne Trafton of Bowie, MD, Ruth Allen of Carver, MA, Barbara Meagher of Nova Scotia, Canada and the late Joseph White (her twin) and Gail Sorrentino. Devoted aunt of Teri Preble, Maureen Caflisch, Robin Tyll, Cathy Chiasson and many other nieces and nephews. Cherished grandmother of Kate and Alex Preble. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Atrium at Faxon Woods in care of the Associate Fund at 2003 Falls Blvd, Quincy MA 02169.
