Mary Houser Obituary
She was the daughter of the late Samuel Henry and Etta Elizabeth Rodefer Elsea. She was a resident of the Blountville area most of her adult life. Mrs. Houser was a practical nurse and a homemaker. She was a member of the Blountville Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Oliver Houser; four brothers, Denver, Jim, Ralph and Carl Elsea; and one sister, Mossie Elsea.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Robertson and husband C. Harris; and one son, Jere "Butch" Houser and wife Brenda, all of Bristol Tennessee; one grandson, Lance Houser, attending Centre College in Danville, Ky.; five special sisters-in-law, Gladys Elsea of Kingsport, Dottie Elsea of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Lucille Malone, Toby Houser and Lois Houser, all of Blountville; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Mary Elsea Houser will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, in Akard Funeral Home Chapel, with Leland Houser, minister, and Dennis Houser, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lance Houser, Buddy Elsea, Charlie Joe Elsea and Mark Root. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Malone, Joe Elsea, Donald Barger, Wade Feathers, John Elsea and Joe Cobb.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at Akard Funeral Home.
Memorial may be made to Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steele's Road, Bristol, TN 37620.
