SILER CITY — Mary Neil Lindley Murchison, 64, of 900 West Dolphin Street, Siler City, died Thursday, February 12, 2009, at Chatham Hospital, Inc., Siler City.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, at South Fork Friends Meeting, 359 South Fork-Bethel Road, Snow Camp, with Ricky Sessoms officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Murchison was born May 23, 1944, the daughter of Mark Wilson and Gladys Pace Lindley.
Mrs. Murchison was a native of Chatham County and a graduate of Elon University. She taught at Jordan Matthews High School for 22 years in the business department. Mary Neil was a member of South Fork Friends Meeting, where she played piano, was a choir member and worked as youth director.
She is survived by two sons, Chris Murchison and wife, Sally, of Siler City, N.C., and David Murchison and wife, Nikki, of Siler City, N.C.; one daughter, Jennifer M. Wilson and husband, Brian, of Graham, N.C.; grandchildren, Mark Christopher Murchison, Jr., Samuel Glenn Murchison, Isaac Neil Wilson, Mary Grace Murchison, Matthew Wade Murchison, Sophia Nicole Murchison and Reese Isabella Wilson; one sister, Becky L. Andrew of Snow Camp, N.C., and one brother, Darryle Lindley of Snow Camp, N.C.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight, Saturday, February 14, at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, N.C., and at other times at the home of a son, Chris and Sally Murchison, 22 Sycamore Lake Road, Siler City.
