Mary and I became next door neighbors at age 10. We remained friends through high school and after we both married, living in Kingsport and as we all moved back to Coeburn. She was a special friend for life.

We were lifetime friends. I first knew you as Sissy and your twin brother, Terry, as Sonny. Later you went by Mary Alice and even later you went by Mary. 'That's enough names for a lifetime.' We graduated together in the proud 1960 class of Coeburn (Virginia) High School. I'm glad we were forever a part of each others lives in friendship, Mary. I'll miss you, my forever friend.
Love,
Carolyn Couch Green - Christiansburg, Virginia

We loved Mary. She was always smiling and laughing and enjoying family and life. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend and role model for us all. Those of us who were privileged to have her in our lives will never forget her and the good feeling we had in her presence. She embraced her relatives families too and our children were just as fond of her as she was of them. They still speak of Mary - "Sissy" to most of us - and the boys from time to time.
Warm family love and sympathy to Scott & family and sincere sympathy for all of her circle of friends and caretakers,
Neal (1st cousin), Paula, Aaron, Sascha and Jeremy Pope
