Mary Deane Sims, 90 passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 in Phoenix, Arizona. Mary Deane was born to Walter M. and Emma Teague on October 7, 1923 in Bell County, Texas. She graduated from Holland High School, and graduated from King's Daughters Hospital School of Nursing in Temple, Texas in 1944. On October 11, 1944, she married Sgt. James H. Sims, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. After the war she and Jimmy moved from Illinois to Phoenix, Arizona. Mary Deane was a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and eventually became the school nurse at Squaw Peak until her retirement in 1987. Mary Deane was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Sims; her parents, Walter and Emma Teague; two brothers, Walter M. Teague, Jr. and Earle Teague and sister Janette Bledsoe. Mary Deane was laid to rest on August 5, 2014 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona. A Celebration of Life – A gathering to pay tribute to Mary Deane's life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Shadow Mountain Mortuary Chapel 2350 E. Greenway Rd, Phoenix.
