Mary Jane Sodders

Mary Jane Sodders, a lifelong resident of Palm Beach County, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at the age of 72.

Born on May 19, 1953, Mary Jane spent her entire life in the community she loved. She was known for her kind heart and unwavering dedication to her family.

Mary Jane's desire to do anything she could for her family was clear from an early age. Shortly after graduating high school, she began working on the family farm-offering her time and love without hesitation. When she married her high school sweetheart in 1976 her focus shifted to building a home filled with love. Her greatest joy came from becoming a mother to their three children and devoted wife.

Mary Jane did have a guilty pleasure-shopping. Even when indulging Mary Jane's focus was her loved ones. Her joy came from picking out thoughtful gifts, always thinking of what might bring happiness to her family and friends.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Mark Sodders, and their children: Robert Sodders and his wife Jessica, Jennifer Roach and her husband Fred, and Patricia Lockhart and her husband Brad. She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Caleb, Kathleen, Freddy, Summer, Audri, Cameron, Madison, Caroline, and Emma. She is also survived by her brother, Dallas Apelgren.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Virginia Apelgren, and her sister, Patti Apelgren.

She will be remembered for her unwavering generosity and her love she gave so freely.

A memorial service will be held at St. Clare Catholic Church (821 Prosperity Farms Rd, North Palm Beach, FL) on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, at 11:00 am. A reception will follow at the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott (4000 RCA Blvd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL).
