Mary St. Amand Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 15, 2025.
Elk Grove - Mary St. Amand, 89, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of July 20th, 2025.

Mary was born on March 30, 1936, in Biddeford, Maine, to Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Dorilla Kearney. Mary graduated with honors from Biddeford High School, where she met the love of her life, Alan St. Amand, who graduated from St. Louis High School. Mary and Alan were married on January 8th, 1955 at St. Mary's church in Biddeford, Maine.

Upon graduating from BHS, she worked in Biddeford as a telephone operator before marrying Alan and raising a family. Her passions were reading and world travel. She especially enjoyed chatting with her three sisters, and loved camping at New England lakes and mountains, and going to the seashore, especially on the coast of Maine. After the family moved to San Jose, California in 1976, she visited Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, and Europe. Mary was a very generous, caring person, and her laughter and wisdom were gifts to everyone who knew her.

Mary is survived by her husband of 70 years, Alan St. Amand of Sacramento, California; daughters Linda St. Amand of Sacramento, and Deborah Dentino and her husband Fred, of Eugene, Oregon; son Bill St. Amand of Mesa, Arizona; and son Ken St. Amand and his wife Viviane Warburton of Kirkland, Washington. She is also survived by grandchildren Paul, Chris, and Jessica Dentino; and Michael St. Amand. She is further survived by her sister, Ruth Tardiff (George), of Biddeford, Maine; a great granddaughter (Sophia), two great grandsons (Jaxon and Nixon), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and two of her three sisters: Joan Laverierre (Phil) and Barbara Nichols (Peter).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mayo Clinic Alzheimer's Disease Research Center in Jacksonville, Florida.
