Mary I Wheeler, 57, of Vestal, NY, passed away on January 15, 2024. She was born on September 4, 1966, in Argentia, Newfoundland, to Raymond and Haroldine Hettel. Mary was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend.

Mary cherished and loved her family and friends. Her granddaughter, Rylie Anne, brought sunshine to her life during her difficult battle against cancer.

Mary is survived by her husband, Len Wheeler, her sons Michael Wheeler (Stevey Lynn Brand), and Christopher Wheeler. Her beautiful granddaughter, Rylie Anne Wheeler. Her mother Haroldine Hettel, her sisters Kimberly Osborne and Michelle Linville. Her nephews and nieces: Kai Raub, Victoria (Freddy) Mallon, Mareena (Adam) Bixby, Kiaira Linville (Jose Gonzalez). She also leaves behind her great nephews and nieces: Tyler, Reid, Ezra, Magnolia, and Ember Bixby, Felicity Mallon, Jasiah Linville, Gabriel and Mateo Gonzalez. Mary is also survived by her Aunt Kathleen Berkovits and cousins MaryLou (David) Cherinko, James (Corinne) Conrow, Rick (Kristine) Conrow, and Danielle (Tom) Pratt.

Mary was predeceased by her son Ryan Wheeler, her father Raymond Hettel, and her grandparents.

Mary had a successful career, working many years as a customer service manager at Walmart. She also worked for UHS and, in her last position, she was an associate at Sam's Club. Mary had numerous friends from all of her jobs whom she cherished and loved.

In her free time, Mary loved spending time with her family and watching sporting events. She was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan and followed all their games.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held on January 27, 2024, at 2pm at Crossroads of Life Church, 18-20 Exchange Street, Binghamton, NY 13901. The Mikeska Funeral Home in Binghamton, NY, is assisting the family with the arrangements where a private ceremony for the family will be held.

Please join us in honoring and celebrating Mary's life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
