Maryann Suozzo Albite

February 17, 1941 - July 8, 2025

Maryann Suozzo Albite slipped peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, following a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born on February 17, 1941, to John J. Suozzo and Minnigalea (Minnie) E. Gugicello Suozzo, Maryann grew up in Stockton, New Jersey, as part of a large, close-knit family whose values of faith, kindness, and resilience she carried throughout her life. On June 29, 1974, she married the love of her life, Joseph J. Albite, at St. Matthew's Church in East Stroudsburg. Together they shared 51 years of devotion, laughter, and unwavering companionship.

Maryann and Joe made their home in Marshalls Creek, Pennsylvania, where they were the longtime owners of the Big A Bar and Grill-a beloved local gathering spot known for its welcoming atmosphere and warm hospitality. Maryann also worked for many years at Kelsey Ford and Mercury in Ringoes, NJ, and later at Weichel Buick in Stroudsburg, PA, where her dedication and warmth were appreciated by both customers and colleagues.

A woman of many talents and interests, Maryann was a gifted cook and baker, a licensed amateur (ham) radio operator, an accomplished crocheter and tatter, and an avid seller on Etsy. She also enjoyed golfing and connecting with others through her wide array of hobbies. A devout Catholic, she was a faithful member of St. John's Catholic Church in Marshalls Creek, where she found comfort and community.

Perhaps most memorably, she served as a "foster mom" and second mother to many of her beloved nieces and nephews, offering love, guidance, and support with boundless generosity.

Maryann is survived by her loving husband, Joseph, and her sister, Rose (Al) Elcavage of Riegelsville, PA, as well as many adoring nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Joseph "Babe," John, Richard "Bull," Oliver "Juny," and Anthony "Buddy" M. Suozzo; and her sisters Helen Smith and Agnes Foster.

Maryann's strength, grace, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who knew her. Those who knew her were truly fortunate; her presence will be sorely missed, and her memory will be cherished by all who were blessed to know her.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, at Rosemont Cemetery, Kingwood Stockton Road, Rosemont, NJ 08556, and will be officiated by Father Bede Kim of Our Lady of Victories Church in Baptistown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Welfare Society of Monroe, 3129 Godfrey Ridge Drive (P.O. Box 13), Stroudsburg, PA 18360, or to the Cancer Support Community Greater Lehigh Valley.
