God knew his name before he was born, and his purpose her on earth. The LORD sent him to touch the lifes of many and make a difference in the world. It is hard not to feel hurt when you have lost a loved one, but we must not think that he is gone forever, so the Lord has said he who has received me in his heart has eternal life in my heavens. Mr. Aguirre was an excellent teacher, who made a difference in many little lives, and thanks to the Lord my children were very blessed to have him. My daughter Samantha Garcia was in his second grade class and is very sad that she has lost her dad, that is what she called him. She said that Mr. Aguirree had told his whole class that he was their dad and they were his children......I thought that was the sweetest thing I had ever heard. My son Asa Garcia had him as a soccer coach and thaught that he was the coolest coach ever. Go figure, he did it all, the Lord gave him many talents and I don't belive that he wasted any of them. Even though you may not be here on earth my children know that they will see you in heaven, THANK YOU FOR BEING A GREAT TEACHER. My prayers are with his family. To his mother, thank you for blessing are children with such a gifted son.

I only knew Matt for the last 3 years while we were working together at Manuel Jara Elementary, but I feel like he was my 'work-little brother.' You know how people say they have a work wife or husband, many of us at MJE feel like he was our little brother. We have lost a member of our work family.
He had such a great spirit, he always had me in stitches with his stories and jokes. Recently we were remembering all the great times we had with him, laughing and crying at the same time, these past few days. He will be missed, and prayers for everyone.

Matthew, you will be missed more than you will ever know. Your company in our home will not ever be forgotten. We are fortunate to have had you in our life and consider you one of our own, always. Your friendship with Lee and Jeffrey will always be cherished and the time we spent with you was always positive and energetic. You are a fine person and a friend to all and the world has gotten smaller with your departure. We leave you to the Lord's hand and know that you are with us always. Peace and Love to your family and we will see you at the Pearly Gates. Neil Hampton & Family, with great sorrow...

I just noticed that only half of my entry from this morning is posted, so, I would like to let Jetty, Anthony and the rest of the family know that my prayers and thoughts go out to you all. Matt was so special to Lauren and myself. The stories he would tell, always had us crying with laughter. He spent everyday at my house for a couple of years and we felt that he was part of the family. He put his all into everything he decided to do. His film making... he shot a short film in my loft and gave a copy to me that I will always treasure... when I convinced him to start subbing, he drove us crazy with his endless search for items to put in his "treasure box"... and when my daughter (Lauren Jernigan) started to collect Pez dispensers, he bought every one that he saw, for her to add to it. His spirit and BIG personality leave us with many fond memories, tons of laughter and spot in our hearts that will always be there. Rest in Peace, Matt

Matt.. I still cannot believe you're gone. I wish I could have seen you just one more time.. it had been far too long. You were one of the closest friends I've EVER had.. and practically the second brother I never had. I miss and will always cherish the times we spent together. No matter what I was feeling, you always knew how to make me laugh, and I am going to miss that more than you'll ever know. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jetty, Anthony and the entire family. Apparently, God needed Matthew more than we did..

I don't know if Matt adopted us or if we adopted him, he was a member of our family in everything we did. He came over EVERYDAY after school and then after work as an adult! Seriously! He will be sorely missed! Like his family, I am so proud of his passion to pursue ALL his dreams and desires from camping, canoeing, running, teaching, poker and especially poking fun at everything. He loved life and lived it to the fullest! His legacy will be how he touched the lives of his students that he loved to brag about all the time. Many a night he came over with papers to grade sharing his many funny adventures as a teacher. Matt's ultimate dream was to be a movie director and he already made a name for himself in music videos. I know he would have been a famous movie director because he believed in himself and those he adopted in his journey of life. Prayers to his family & his host of family friends because he adopted all of us as his family. Jetty, thank you for sharing him with us. Matt's Hollywood star shines forever in heaven. Love, Jodi

Matt, and I weren't very close, but we went to school together for as long as I can remember and I have such fond memories of him. I read what others have written about him and it takes a great person to have touched people's lives the way that he did, I wish that I had the chance to know him better. He was always the light in every room that he walked in and the world is a little less bright without him in it. I hope that he knew how much he was loved by those who he was close to and even those of us who he wasn't. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends.

TO MY SISTER IN LAW, JETTY & MY NEPHEW, ANTHONY MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU FOR STRENGTH DURING THIS VERY DIFFICULT TIME. WHAT A LOSS OF TWO GREAT MEN. I LOVED MY BROTHER WITH ALL MY HEART, AND OF COURSE MY VERY HANDSOME NEPHEW MATTHEW. HE HAD SO MANY DREAMS TO FUFILL.
