Matthew Denman Obituary
Matthew was born in Baltimore MD to James and Lynda Denman and moved to the Memphis, Tennessee area in the spring of 1979. He graduated from Kingsbury High School in Memphis. He was a gifted artist who never realized his true potential.
He is survived by his beloved pet Miniature Pinscher Lucy, two daughters, Linsey Denman of Sand Springs OK, Cleona Denman of Waterford CT, his brother Donald Pennington Jr. of San Diego CA, his father James Denman of New Port Richey FL, his mother and stepfather, Lynda and Don Threadgill of Bartlett TN, and his sisters Yvonne Ginger Hatch and Bernadette Denman Reed both of Gallatin TN.
Matthew proudly served and excelled in the submarine service of the U.S. Navy and was awarded service medals and ribbons including a Navy Achievement Medal for his heroic and gallant actions in saving the life of a drowning crewmember.
In honor of Matthew's life, in lieu of flowers or other expressions of symphathy, please make a monetary or food donation in Matthew's name to your local animal shelter.

A constant in my life over the past twenty years has been no matter the ups and downs eventually you would reach out. I am finding it really difficult to come to terms with that will no longer be the case. I do take comfort in knowing a piece of you is still here and lives through Cleona. I wish you were going to be here to see the strong and ambitious woman she is well on her way to becoming. I will do my best to make sure Cleona knows how much you loved her and that you will watch over her. Rest in peace my friend, I got our girl.

I was so saddened to hear about the passing of my high school boyfriend, Matthew. He was a sweet, sensitive, creative, and funny soul, and I´ll always remember the friendship we shared during those years and shortly after, when he went on to serve in the military. Though it has been over 20 years since we last spoke, the news of his passing brings a deep sadness. The world feels a little dimmer without him in it.
