Matt was a great friend when we worked together at the Boys and Girls Club in Phoenix. He had a wonderful way of connecting with the kids in a man authentic way, truly seeing past the kids rough exterior to who they really were. When he moved, we lost touch, but I thought of him often, and sometimes messaged. I thought of him today, and wanted to reach out and say hello, instead finding this. I know he is enjoying the peace he deserved.

Hello Mandeville family, I used to know Matt when I was in college and we grew into friends over listening to punk rock and ska music. Matt was easy to talk to, welcoming, and I enjoyed getting to know him. I´m just learning about his passing and your loss. My heart is broken for you. I just wanted to let you know that he was kind to me, during our strange late teens and early 20´s and that I appreciate the small moments shared during that time. I remember driving in his car with the band Say Anything blasting, both singing loudly. I hope the good memories outweigh heavy thoughts. Sending love to you.

Susan and Brian,
We are very sorry to read of your son Matt's passing. Sounds like he was a really bright, ambitious and talented young man who ventured west to explore other parts of the country. We can easily relate to that having done the same in our younger years. Our prayers are with you and your family. Sincerely, Ellen and Bruce
