Matthew Roane Obituary
Matt was born October 23, 1967, in Council Bluffs. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1986. Matt was a customer service rep for Norwest Bank and was promoted to a personal banker before taking a management training job at Harvey's Casino. Matt was a poker dealer. He went on to open up his own poker hall. Matt went back to work at Harrah's as an instructor, training new employees. He was of the Catholic faith.
Matt is survived by his daughter, Marissa Roane, who was the light of his life; mother, Kathryn Jerry Roane; father, Larry Roane, all of Council Bluffs; grandmother, Katie Roane, of Neola, Iowa; uncle, Dr. Michael Coy, of Council Bluffs; aunts and uncles, Connie and Keith Miller and their 3 sons, John, Chris and Nick, of Swisher, Iowa, Cathy and Rich Corrin, of Neola, Iowa, Rob and Judy Roane, of Council Bluffs; uncle, Darrell Roane; aunt, Barb Roane; half-siblings, Amanda, Travis and Jessie Roane, all of Council Bluffs; several cousins and second cousins; dear companion, Marsha Blunk.
Matt was a kind-hearted person who loved his family and dogs unconditionally. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral service Wednesday, 3 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Visitation with the family one hour prior to the service. The family will direct memorials.

Matt I wish I could tell you how much i miss you, and how big of a role you played in my life. You were there for me since i was eight years old. I would do anything to be able to walk up stairs and tell you i love you before i go to bed again. i never knew how much id miss that once i grew up. you were my parent. I looked up to you. i had so many issues showing it, but it was true. I love you .

To all of Matt's family......I just heard of Matt's passing and was truly saddened to hear that he was called early to his heavenly reward. Matt played youth league baseball four years for the Warriors team---I still remember the talks I had with him when he had doubts about continuing to play.
I am so glad he stayed on--he added so much---I know he will be missed by all who knew him.

Words cannot express how shocked and saddened I am by Matt's passing. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word, never failed to be there for someone in need, and always had a kind word for everyone. I am honored he considered me a friend, loved him, and will miss him terribly.
My deepest condolences go out to the Roane family and all his many friends. He will be missed, but definitely never forgotten. His short life made an incredibly huge impression on all those it touched.
