Matthew Sheldon Scott

A charming soul, a ready and delightful wit, the kindest of hearts hiding behind a sly and impish grin – this was Matthew Sheldon Scott. Born to Sheldon Scott and Mary Katsilometes-Scott on July 11, 1974 in Pocatello, Idaho, Matthew would go about the business of carving a most distinctive niche in the hearts of friends, relatives, and associates for nearly 40 years.
After completing high school in Pocatello, Matthew back to Portland to live. Eventually, he would work extensively as a professional personnel manager. In recent years, he began his own business in Private Investigation, an undertaking that he enjoyed immensely and at which his myriad talents for interpersonal work and management blossomed anew.
Through all of his life, Matthew's prime devotion was to his wife and children. In that, he leaves a magnificent heritage of care, dedication, and compassion that will live on in their hearts and lives forever. He will be sorely missed. Benedicas eum, Carissime Domine, nunc et semper.
Matthew leaves behind the love of his life his wife Stacie Buchanan-Scott, three children – Thomas, Kaylee, and Abigail – his father Sheldon Scott, his mother Mary Katsilometes-Reinbold, step-father Michael Reinbold, brothers Peter, Justin, Benjamin, and Ryan, sisters Jenna, Megan, Aimee, and Brenda, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, Matthew's family asks that you consider donations to the Matthew Scott Memorial Fund at any US Bank location. I used to work with Matt for some time and got to know him we'll he was a great guy and hiskids were so sweet I remember when he had me buy a vacuum for his little guy! My heart goes out to his family it was horrible to hear of matts passing May he show his great personality in heaven

We are so sorry to hear about the demise of Matthew. Having known him as a little boy who was a good friend of my Son. He spent many hours at our home on Katsilometes Road in Pocatello. I have wondered about him frequently. I regret his familes loss and the heartbreak Mary and Shelton have suffered. He was a beloved child and I think of him and the song, TWO LITTLE BOYS AND A ROCKING HORSE. That song is befitting for Matt and his brothers.

Stacie and children: I am a client of Matthew and he was working to find my missing cousin, our business relationship started towards the end of 2013 and the contract was from Dec through March. He was always very amicable and understanding, and though we live in Indiana and have never seen him and with me wondering how genuine he really was as an investigator, he assured me of his genuineness with his professional talk and put away my fears. The last time we kept in touch was several weeks ago, I was shcoked to hear from you Stacie of his death, I still have a hard time understanding this horrible tragedy, which I am sure all of you are for sure, having known him for a much longer time than my just 3 months. My deepest sympathy and prayers.

We will miss Matt's smile as he would enter the pet shop. He was an intelligent, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Most of all he was Matt. He would always take time to answer all your questions. He was instrumental in developing Dollys Pet Shoppe web site. He believed it would help Anna's business and he was absolutely correct! He would never take anything for his services, and was always willing to update anything she needed done to the web page. Our deepest condolences to Stacie, the children, his parents, and all the rest of his family. R.I.P. Matt. Today, heaven has gained a wonderful man!
