Matthew Seadler

Matthew Joseph Seadler, 47 of Louisville, passed away on August 13, 2023, due to complications of ALS.

Matt was born on April 9, 1976, to parents Mike and Jeani in Louisville KY. After Matt graduated from St. Xavier, he went on the take classes at Spalding University.

Throughout his life, he made a significant impact on the local community as a favored bartender and manager all over Louisville. His friendly demeanor and sports knowledge made him a beloved figure amongst the patrons he served.

Beyond his career, Matt had a variety of hobbies. He truly loved University of Kentucky Athletics, Notre Dame, PGA golf, and the New England Patriots. His primary love besides family and friends was the Chicago Cubs. Fly the W.

Music was another one of his great passions, with a broad taste that included Hootie and the Blowfish, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Dave Matthews Band, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and countless others.

Matt is survived by his mother, Jeani Guinn, sister Robben Lee, father Mike Seadler (Ruth), father Gene Guinn (Marian), sister Sarah Thacker (Bobby) and brother David Blanchard. Matt is also survived by a group of cousins that were so close, they were like siblings as well. Whether you knew him as Matty, Grease, Seads, Butchy, or just plain Matt; he never met a stranger and to know him was to love him.

Matt will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, cousin, uncle and friend. He was witty, a great dancer, the best air guitarist, and loved others deeply. He remembered every song lyric and sports statistic there was. He made an impression on everyone he met.

His warm personality, dedication to his sports, and for life will be remembered fondly by all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. The world will be a different place without Matt.

Services will be held at St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church on August 22nd at 11:00 am. In memory of Matt's life, his family kindly requests contributions to be made to The ALS Association Kentucky Chapter. This organization supports individuals and families affected by ALS and works towards finding a cure for this devastating disease.
