Matthew Vest Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 10, 2024.
Matthew Edward Vest (Matt) passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, September 8, 2024, he was a native North Carolinian. Matthew lived life with a flare doing things his way and cherishing his many adventures with family, close friends and extended family of many. Matt is survived by his sister Chris and Mark Campbell; his brother George Bell and brother Todd and Lora Vest-Cunningham. Matt will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, Maggie and Riley Campbell and Adam, James and Amy Bell and Eric and Travis Cunningham. Matt's wish was to be placed at the ocean beach with his father and mother's ashes; and his special dog Apache; his sister Chris will fulfil this final wish in a quiet ceremony at the beach. Matt will be missed by many as his memory carries on through time with those he touched along the way.

One of my earliest memories was with Matt and Aunt Carol and Uncle Ed. I´m not sure how old I was when I learned that they were not actually related to us. He taught me how to jump hills on a bike even after Carol got so mad when I came in with 2 bloody knees. It didn´t stop either of us from doing it again the next time. My deepest condolences.

Matt used to come visit us in WA State, we had great times together sharing stories of family. It was an honor to be his big brother.
