Maurice B. Kiely

KIELY Maurice B. Kiely age 76, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, September 28, 2008 surrounded by his family. Born in Bridgeport, on November 27, 1931, he was the son of the late Maurice J. and Frances Kiely. He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Arsenault Kiely, and five beloved children: Maurice J. Kiely and wife, Laura of Virginia, Kathleen Uhl and her husband, Kevin of Beacon Falls, Eileen Ridolfi and her husband, David of Trumbull, Robert Kiely and MaryBeth Kiely both of Trumbull. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild; two brothers, John Kiely and his wife, Nan of Acton, Mass., and Robert F. Kiely of Worcester, Mass.; several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends residing both here and in Ireland, all whom were dear to his heart. Maurice attended Harding High School in Bridgeport where he played sports, one of his favorite pastimes. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and was the current Secretary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, after serving previously as the President of the Bpt.. AOH Chapter. He was an employee of Sears Roebuck Co. in Bpt. for 37 years. In his retirement, he was an active volunteer with many organizations including the Mercy Center of Bpt and Gunster House. Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday directly at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 190 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
