It will be one year tomorrow that Mindy passed away. It is still so hard to comprehend. I miss her every day at Jefferson. Her spirit and personality can never be replaced. Rest in peace Mindy. I miss you and hope that you will watch over us as we carry on with educating the students at Jefferson.

Ms. Lammert was my favorite teacher, even though I've moved numberous times and never really stayed in one place for enough time to get attached to a given place or school, but Pittsburgh will always be my hometown. I remember that she took my 1st grade class to her house, I still remember that 8 years later. I loved the creative style that filled her home and obvisously her classroom and personality. I also remember the time she brought her cats to the classroom. Ms. Lammert will be feirously missed, those who knew her will never forget her and those that didnt missed out on a learning adventure that they would never forget. I will miss you Ms. Lammert.

I was so sorry to hear of Miss Lammert's passing. My son Scott had Miss Lammert for first grade. She was a wonderful person and an excellent teacher. She seemed to know each child so well, and treated them all with kindness and respect. I really appreciated that about her. Our family will always remember her with the fondest of memories.

My daughter Julia had Mindy for first grade and truly adored her. I will always remember her with joy and fun as I served as her homeroom parent. She made a difference in the lives of so many children. She will be greatly missed.

Ms. Lammert taught two of my four children, Eleri and Teyrnon, in first grade. They adored her and their two siblings were jealous that they hadn't had her as a teacher. I liked and respected her from the first moment I met her. She nurtured the children and they just loved her fashion sense and vibrant personality. My husband remembers her as the great teacher with the purple hair. It is such a great loss.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Miss Lammert's untimely passing. My son was in her class the fist year she taught at Jefferson School. He was a handful, but she always treated him with kindness, respect, sensitivity , caring and creativity. She had a special way with all children and parents. I nominated her for the Pennsylvania State Teachers award and always believed she richly deserved it. she made a mark on many a student and will be sadly missed. I hope her family will find comfort in knowing how many lives she touched and enriched and that she truely made a diffence. She will forever be in our thoughts and prayers...sharon moskowitz

It was a sad shock to hear about Mindy. She loved my brother for many years and was a big part of our lives, comforted us when our brother Art died and always checked in with our parents after. I am so, so sorry she is gone.

Ms. Lammert was my favorite and best teacher. I was in Ms. Lammert's 1987-88 first grade class at Jefferson Elementary and absolutely loved her. I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. She was so patient, kind, beautiful, creative, smart, and funny. Ms. Lammert will always have a special place in my heart.

I love Miss Lammert as a teacher. I had her in first grade and learned so much from her. I loved how she dressed and how she decorated her house. I am now a sophomore and have to give her credit for a lot of the things I know how to do today like adding and subtracting. She will be missed.

Our family was so sad to hear of Miss Lammert's death. She taught all three of my children how to read. My two sons had her for first grade and my daughter had her in kindergarten at Jefferson Elementary School. She was an excellent teacher who truly made every child feel special and they all connected with her, both girls and boys. Of course, my daughter loved to come home at the end of the day to describe the hip outfit Miss Lammert wore! She made school fun for the kids but they also learned so much in her classroom. That is what make her such a wonderful teacher. She truly had a lasting impact on the children at Jefferson Elementary School and she will never be forgotten.

We as a family were very sad to hear about Mindy. She was truly a wonderful teacher to both my children and remarkable in the fact that no matter how much time had passed she always remembered them by name and asked after them. She truly cared and made a difference in their lives.

Miss Lammert was, and will probably always be, my favorite teacher. Not only did she connect with each student individually, she also encouraged us to be who we were and have fun in the meantime. From the "think pink" chair to the day she brought her cat to school, the memories I have from first grade will never be replaced. Mt. Lebanon lost one of its most kindhearted and loving people, she will be greatly missed and greatly remembered.

I was shocked and deeply hurt to hear of Mindy's passing. She was a warm, loving person trying to make her way in the world. She spoke fondly of her teaching years and adored her eclectic Mt Washington home. I met Mindy while she was in the process of buying that house and enjoyed seeing the updates completed over the years with her significant love, John (JT). My thoughts and prayers are with her entire family, friends, colleagues and students.

I worked at Jefferson Elem. Sch. with Mindy for 13 years, and
although she's gone...
Look for her in your mind's eye
Though details of her face will fade
As time does surely go by
Recall each happy memory that
she had made....
And, take solace in the fact that she is finally at rest.

Mindy taught three of my five children. As a first grade teacher, she taught two of them to read. We all loved her as a teacher and a friend. For several years our fashion sense at home was strongly influenced by what Miss Lammert was wearing, though it was hard to keep up with her! I am sorry to hear of her passing. We will always remember her in our family.
