I think of Melissa and her family so often. I always have. She was one of my first true friends. From 1st grade through high school, she was always a constant, dear friend. She never changed. She was sweet and warm, just like her mother and little sister. Melissa was always special. To me, her greatest talent was not her beautiful dancing, it was her genuine heart. As time moved us in different directions, she has always popped into my mind and made me smile and wistfully tell myself that someday we would reconnect. Melissa was never someone whose presence could not be missed. I know she will pop into my mind for the rest of my life and I will always feel grateful to have called such a person my my friend. Coach Galvin, LeahAnn and the Dobson family, I am so sorry for your loss. You, Melissa and Linda will always be in my heart and prayers.

I have known Pat and Melissa since our wonderful vacation together last year. We so enjoyed our kids playing together and we are so saddened that we won't be able to do it again. Her kindness, love and warmth with us was amazing. Pat you have become a close friend during this courageous battle, as we often spoke about what the future may hold for you and your young family. I speak for all of your family and friends when I tell you we are here to support the three of you every step of the way. Much love to you all.

I did not know Melissa, but do know several people who did. All I have read and heard tell me that she was a remarkable woman. I share your grief, we lost our daughter to this terrible disease when she was 28 years old. It breaks my heart to know that others feel this pain. This disease was only a small part of her life, may your many other memories blanket you and give you a measure of peace. God bless you and comfort you and your family.

Melissa I will truly miss you dearly. You were my first dance teacher at dance connection and because of you I have been dancing my whole life. I remember when I told you I was having surgery on my knee and scared that I wouldn't be able to dance anymore..you told me anything was possible and when I showed up you gave me a huge warm embracing hug and told me we can do this together. I am truly grateful to have met you and know you. You will forever be missed! We love you!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I danced with Melissa when we were teenagers and I have very fond memories of our times together. I just recently watched a video from my last dance recital with Dance Connection from 1998 where Melissa and I danced several numbers together. It appears she has touched many lives throughout the years and she will be greatly missed.

We are sad beyond belief. Tom and Linda, Melissa and Leann, such a wonderful family. Now she is with Mom and I am sure laughing at all of us for feeling sad. I first met Melissa when she was a baby in Linda's arms at the Lincoln High School track behind the middle school. She grew into an amazing woman, mother and dancer, inspiring so many and showing what true Girl Power really is!!! What a true blessing it was to interact with you Dear Lady Melissa. You never failed to light up that mega-watt smile whenever I had the privilege of seeing you.

My heart hurts for the family and I know she is an angel watching over all them now along with Linda. My families thoughts and prayers are with all of you and Melissa. I remember standing and talking to her father at the Delta College track and he showed me proudly a picture of his new daughter. I told him, "hey, she looks like me when I was a baby". He still remembered that years later. Knowing her father, Tom, since I was in high school (grad 1977). He was always so very proud of his daughters. God Bless ALL of you in this time of sorrow. My heart is broken for a dear friend and wish you the family a time of healing and love.

Melissa was a wonderful person who taught all her girls something special. Dance. She always pushed us to our highest potential. She was a great teacher mentor and person. She always came in with a smile on her face. I knew Melissa very well as she was a dance instructor at dance connection in Stockton and she was my teacher I loved her and always looked up to her as I'm sure all of us girls did.

Our family only shared time with Melissa during the youth baseball season on a team with her son, Brady, and our two older children, Avery and Mason. And although this time was short, there was no hiding the love their family had for one another, and Melissa's special love for her children and her husband.
