PSALM 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the Shadow of death, I will fear no evil;

For Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;

Thou anoint my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Melissa, we always bring you at work and remember how incredible you were, not just as a co-worker but as a person. Hope you’re resting easy.

Melissa, I'll miss our long conversations about our favorite stocks and trying to figure out why we were still losing money. I am glad I was lucky enough to know you as a coworker and a friend. Although I won't be seeing your smiling face at the office anymore, I know you're at peace. Rest well.

Aloha 'oukou ku'u ipo. I remember zooming - I think it was the day that you'd received the teddy-bear soft scarf and beanie I'd made - and I remember thinking how absolutely radiant and beautiful you were. I think I said it out loud and we both giggled a bit. Me mostly at how ridiculous I sounded gushing over both your inner/outer grace and beauty and your strength. Mahalo piha for your faith, kindness, soft strength, robust sense of humor, your patience and quick smile and so much more. I am going to miss you so much, as I know so many others will. Surrounding your ohana and hoaloha with warm aloha, mana'o and mana. A hui hou, my friend, until we meet again, hi'iamoe maika'i.

Melissa,

I have and will continue to think of you often. I will miss your effervescent attitude and sunny smile. You left a deep mark on so many of us, a void that can never be replaced. But we can take comfort that you are now free of all your earthly burdens and free of pain. I hope your family can take some comfort in that. For myself, I will take comfort in the blessings of how you taught us to be a fighter. In how your strength and determination never diminished. May you forever rest in peace.

Sometimes the loss of someone as special as Melissa can render us speechless and lost for words.
This is where I dwell. Trusting God to provide the healing for the hearts of those who loved her and many of us who worked with her in person or virtually on a regular basis. She was a blessing to our lives whether it was fixing an Excel spreadsheet or a quick chat about life and her ability to trust God during her treatments.
She was faithful and heaven has gained an angel.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted - Matthew 5:4

Melissa was not just a great coworker, she was an amazing friend. Melissa always encouraged, gave you a sense of hope and overall stayed positive no matter the mood or trial being faced in that moment. Her smile was infectious and I always knew how to keep her laughing, even through the storm be faced. I pray that the family finds comfort knowing the lives Melissa touched and the wonderful memories she shared and made with her WI family. I miss you Melissa, but I will see you again. I love you always.
