It is with great sadness we have just learnt of Michael's passing. We have so many fond memories of time spent with Michael when we had the opportunity to visit North Berwick. He was a true gentleman, outstanding host and great family man. He was also so generous and giving of his time to host guest golfers to his beloved Muirfield and North Berwick golf clubs.
To Anne, Jeremy and Hugo we extend our heartfelt sympathy in the loss of Michael.
Best Regards
Terry and Sue Fawcett Melbourne Australia

Very sad to read of Michael's passing. Although I have not seen him for many years we were colleagues at Hutchison in Hong Kong in the early 70s. I remember his keen sense of humour and his talents as a fine golfer. My deepest sympathy to Ann and his family.

BM (as I knew him) was a true mentor to me at a young age and taught me lots of values that I hold true to me today. A true friend that kept in touch after his retirement. Only 2 weeks ago I mentioned him to a colleague, even in my interview...which shows how much he has stayed in my thoughts all these years. I was glad to have had my time working alongside him at Torrie & Co, my 1st job that lasted 10 years, sadly another 10 years on and we have to say goodnight. He will be sadly missed and know that all who knew him will miss him immensley. My love to the family. Take care. Rest in peace Michael. xxxx
