Michael Clayton Sr.

Michael Clayton Sr., born on October 24, 1952, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on August 6, 2025, in his hometown of Macon. He was 72 years old.

Michael was educated in the Bibb County public school system and attended Ballard Hudson High School. After completing his education, he embarked on a long and dedicated career as a truck driver, working for more than two decades before retiring. His years on the road reflected a strong work ethic and commitment.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Michael Jr. of Seale, Alabama; Eric of Bear, Delaware; Jarrell of Macon, Georgia; and one daughter, Andrea Clayton-Mays (Donnie) of Anderson, South Carolina. He also leaves behind his sister Gloria Jean Rawls of Florida.

He was preceded in death by a daughter CaDetra Clayton Raines; a grandson, Damion Clayton; granddaughter Braxton Goodwin; great grandson Levite Goodwin and a brother-in-law, Stephen Rawls Jr.

Michael's legacy continues through his eighteen grandchildren: Jazme Richardson, Antonio Walker, Jayden Clayton, Malike Stewart, Kristen Brooks, A'kara Felton, Deontae Dickens, Anthony Bray, Aratez Pennymon, Ja'Marion Pennymon, Amir Pennymon, Ashley Clayton, Donnie Mays Jr., Jamichael Clayton, Joslyn Clayton, Y'Keria Clayton, Vernsheka Jolly, and ZyKia Casly. He is also remembered by relatives and friends whose lives he touched over the years.
