I was lucky knowing Mike and working with him at Sonata and later at ASML. Mike was a true engineer, could figure out a way to fix almost everything. Mike was so proud of his kids and his wife which is the most I remember about Mike. We lost a very kind man. My deepest condolences to Corwel family.

As a volunteer at the YNHH Smilow Cancer Center, I was truly blessed to have met Mike while he received his chemo treatment. We had a lot in common ! I ,ALSO, had pancreatic cancer and have been cancer free for six months now. We talked on many occasions and I also invited him to join the Men's Cancer Support Group of which he was a major source of inspiration to all of us during our monthly meetings. A more down to earth, gentle, humble, sincere, knowledgeable person you could not find. He was a true fighter, resilient, and warrior til the end ! Initially, he was told he only had a few months to live. Well, his strong positive attitude and faith in God, gave him the extra time ( two years ) to enjoy friends and family, and his music. I ,and my fellow members of the cancer support group, will forever cherish his friendship, and the positive attitude mindset, and inspiration that he gave to all of us. Rest in Peace, brother Mike !

Deb, Jamie and Christian, you all have my deepest condolences! He was such a good man as well as being so very cool. His outlook on life was a breath of fresh air, along with his witty sense of humor. He was there so often for Katrina... making her background music for performances... being a headliner 2 years in a row for her fundraising group raising money for the oncology department at the Hartford Children's Hospital. Totally selfless. He´s rocking heaven right now and watching over his family whom he
adored to no end! My heart is heavy. Sending you all love and light.

Michael and his family visited us in California, either summer of `82 or `83.
the trip, of course included trips to the requisite theme parks in the SoCal area - Knott´s Berry Farm and Magic Mountain (we were already in a "too-cool-for-Disneyland" phase, so that one was out).
The entry marquee at Magic Mountain boasted the one and only Marshall Crenshaw performing with his band at the Magic Mountain pavillion. Michael was absolutely ecstatic and couldn´t believe his luck. His sister, Lara and I were able to convince him to let us - 12 or 13 yrs old natch - to tag along with him.
He generously obliged and the 3 of us sat front row and center with Michael marvelling at our close proximity to Marshall himself and the fact that we were 3 of maybe 2 dozen people in the audience.
I have always wanted a big brother and Mike was that for me - dispensing advice, listening to me drone on, being an amazing support system and being my biggest cheerleader when I needed one.
My heart will miss Mike greatly but I know he is rocking out there in the great beyond.

One of my favorite memories was watching him see Jamie in her wedding dress for the first time!

I was in the Marines going to Electronics school & hitchhiked from Memphis Tennessee to Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. The weekend after he was born. I purchased a Highchair for him at the PX.
