Michael Dimatteo Obituary
Wilmington - Michael Nicholas Dimatteo, "Nick", age 77, of Wilmington, DE passed away suddenly surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 15, 2019. Nick was born and raised in Wilmington, the son of the late Melva and John Roberts Dimatteo. He worked as an Ironworker and Welder for the Local 451 until his retirement. Nick loved the beach and his boat, and made many memories by the water with his family.
Nick will be dearly missed by his wife of 24 years, Christine Giordano Dimatteo; his daughter, Nicole Miller of Jacksonville, FL; his stepson, Robert Ragazzo and his wife, Elena of Wilmington, DE; his grandchildren, Hope Miller, Dominic and Gianna Ragazzo; his brother, Frank Dimatteo of Milton, DE; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
A visitation will be held on Sunday December 22, 2019 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. with funeral services beginning at 11:30 A.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will be private. Online condolences may be made by visiting mealeyfuneralhomes.com.

Dear Dimatteo family,
I'm saddened to learn about Michael Nick's passing. We talked a month or so ago and he had told me he wanted to try to fight the cancer as long as he possibly was able. God intervened with a different plan, so I know Heaven has gained a WONDERFUL angel. I will miss hearing from him, but I know we'll be rejoined again someday. We'll catch up on our family talkconversations then. He loved my mom dearly and always checked in on her. She'll be broken hearted to hear of his passing, too.
You'll be in my thoughts and thoughts and may God embrace each family member during this time of loss. He and his contagious smile will truly be missed.

Dear Chris...
I'm one of Nick's cousins in NC and wanted you to know that I'm so saddened to hear of his passing. He called me from time to time to chat and he had told me he was fighting cancer as long as he possibly could...yes he was a fighter, for sure...Heaven has gained a WONDERFUL person. Even though, we only communicated via phone mostly, we still cherished that "LEMONS" family bond that will forever be in my heart. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and May God embrace you and your family during this time of loss. I will miss hearing from him, but know that we'll catch up with each other someday when I join him in Heaven.
