To the family, Want you to know you have been in my thoughts and prayers. I was SFC Fescemyer's Nurse Case Manager at the Fort Eustis Warrior Transition Unit and though most of our interaction was over the phone. The last home visit that I got to see him in person was 9/12/11 along with SSG Nates and Mr. Haynes and we had a wonderful visit and listened to him talk about his family and how his goal was to get the bathroom and some other home modifications done and also take his wife on an Alaskan cruise. Another thing he talked about was how he started to crochet since he has been ill and wanted to crochet some baby clothes for any grandchildren born after he was gone. I know he was not able to accomplish everything he wanted to before God called him home, but the intentions were there. He loved his family very much and that was obvious. We will be having our memorial service for him today and looking forward to being able to pay my respects to a wonderful man and soldier.Share stories often and keep the memories alive as you get together. Take Care. Army Strong.

I served with SFC Fescemyer in the 229th MP Company for several years. He was an outstanding soldier, leader and mentor in the VA National Guard and he lived the Army Values. SFC Michael Fescemyer will truly be missed by so many. God Bless,
