Michael Finn Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 25, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael K. Finn, who left us on February 1, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on August 25, 1951, Michael was a man full of life and laughter, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Michael lived large and fast in his early days. It wasn't until the Doc told him, "if you keep this up, you won't be around much longer". Shortly after that, he went 30 years without drinking. I guess the Doc got through to him.

Michael had a deep passion for riding Harley Davidsons; he was seldom seen without his motorcycle vest and a sleeveless shirt. His love for adventure extended beyond the road to his cherished pontoon boat, where he delighted in taking friends and family out for memorable outings on the water.

Known for his frugality and pride in his Irish heritage, Michael proudly showcased his roots with a custom-painted Harley featuring the Irish flag. His strong spirit and dedication to family were evident in all he did.

During the last ten years of his life, he resided in both Eagle River, Wisconsin, and Goodyear, Arizona. Michael was predeceased by his beloved wife Sue and is survived by his devoted daughter-in-law, Sandy Heide, along with his four living nieces and three living nephews: William J. Finn III, Mary Y. Hoy, Fred T. Finn, Kathleen Duffy, Patricia Duffy. Eileen Duffy, and Michael Duffy. Each of them carries a piece of his legacy in their hearts. Uncle Mick as he was called, in his final days, said well, I thought I had till I was about 78 like my Dad and Brother, but it looks like I'm going to be cashing in a few years early.

Near the end, he knew it was close. He talked a couple times with the local Priest. He felt he had his things in order and was ready to see his family that had passed before him.

Michael K. Finn will be deeply missed but will forever ride in our hearts.

Missing you terribly Mickey. An era has ended with my Scotty leaving in 2024 and now you who will I hear coming down the road reving up the Harleys. Who will take us on the Eagle River Chain for a pontoon boat ride on Sundays. Both mine and Scott's favorite times with you. Also the many rides in the Northwoods on all our Harley's. Me at the back with my Scotty boy and you riding the front. Our Harley's may all be gone now but I am hoping you are riding on wings with my Scotty Boy and turning those sharp corners together. Someday I will join you and ride my Fat Boy with you around those corners but not so fast. Love you, Mickey.

I am happy I was able to share some memories and say goodbye to my Uncle during his final days. Adding some pictures of his beloved Harley, and 2 others from my visit out to Goodyear for spring training, where we attended a game together.
