Michael Fishman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 9, 2024.
Michael Scott Fishman, 59, of Danville, California, passed away on February 4, 2024. He was born on July 17, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois. Michael was an incredibly intelligent and humble individual who always put others' feelings first. He had a crazy dry sense of humor and was known for his kindness and caring nature. Michael was an amazing golfer and skier, and he had a deep love for his Golden Retriever, Desi. He was a hard worker who started three companies throughout his career.

Michael is survived by his loving spouse, Jean Fishman, and his two sons, Ben Fishman and Jacob Fishman. He is also survived by his father, William Fishman, his mother, Roberta Fishman, his sister, Sheri Levin, and his brother, Richard Fishman. Additionally, he is survived by his brother-in-laws Tommy Levin and Chuck Rush, his sister-in-laws, Nina Fishman, Missy Hobbs and Janet Rush, his father-in-law Charles Rush and his mother-in-law Mary Jane Rush and his nieces and nephews: Tess Levin, Emily Fishman, Tausha Hobbs, Amanda Franklin, Stacie Simpson, Meg Brattelle, Zack Levin, Drew Fishman, and Bradley Rush.

Michael attended Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village, Colorado, and went on to pursue a degree in petroleum engineering at the University of California. He later earned his MBA from the University of Southern California while working at Rockwell International, where he contributed to the space shuttle program. After obtaining his MBA, Michael worked as a business consultant at Anderson Consulting before starting his own consulting practice in 1995. He successfully ran his consulting practice while simultaneously launching two new businesses. He sold Collective Sense in 2019 and currently operates Slice Up.

Michael worshipped at BMH/BJ and Community Presbyterian Church. He found solace and community in these places of worship.

In his free time, Michael enjoyed golfing, skiing, running, biking, hiking, and exploring fine restaurants. He had a particular fondness for red wine.

A memorial service will be held on February 25 at 3:30 pm at Community Presbyterian Church, located at 222 W El Pintado, Danville, CA. A reception will follow the service at the Veterans Memorial Building of San Ramon Valley, located at 400 Hartz Ave, Danville, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, ASPCA, or St. Jude's in Michael's memory.

Graham Hitch Cremation & Memorial, located in Danville, CA, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I had the pleasure of meeting &treating Michael a few months ago.
I could only see his kind eyes over a mask, as he awaited his
Wellness Session in a lobby filled w/ salt lamps &crystals
I could feel his, he´s calm, stoic demeanor, as I explained the
unique treatment.

I then offered him a `Guided Meditation´ in place of the music playing
He jokingly responded, "Why not....as they say, when in Rome" ?!

After our time, he thanked me
Yet, it was my honor.... he brought & left a grounded & positive energy,
I gratefully plan to remember & recycle with all

I have golfed with Michael´s brother Rich. Rich told me his brother was a better golfer than him . I thought wow Rich is a good golfer and his brother is even better! I also liked hearing from Rich of the 2 man tournaments he and Michael enjoyed competing in together at Round Hill , especially I could tell Rich got pumped up to play the club championship with Michael.
Love to the Fishman´s from Mark and Marlene and Anna Fahrenkrog
