Michael James Fraleigh

Michael James Fraleigh, born on October 20, 1953, passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2025, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, surrounded by his children. His heart was broken after losing his beloved wife, Tonda, in December, and he couldn't bear the thought of living in a world without Ozzy Osbourne.

Mike grew up in the Hudson River Valley, where he had an idyllic childhood filled with fond memories. He spent his days exploring the woods, searching for Civil War treasures, and helping his family during the county fair. As a young adult in Los Angeles, he worked as a soundboard operator for a local rock band, bred designer cats, and perfected the art of partying.

In 1983, Mike met Tonda Bruckner in Omaha, Nebraska, and they spent the rest of their lives together. After relocating to Southwest Iowa, Mike enjoyed spending time with his other great love - movies. He had a special fondness for the worst films and would often stay up all night drinking beer around a bonfire.

Mike is survived by his children, Venessa deJesus, Jennifer Bruckner, Grant Bruckner, and Mike Fraleigh Jr., as well as fourteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter Brother Donald O'kula and Sister Tammy Greggory. He is preceded in death by his wife Tonda Bruckner, parents Helen and James Fraleigh, brothers Robin Jay, and Jamie Fraleigh, and sisters Michelle Veneruso and Holly Edwards.

A celebration of life will be held in mid-October. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the mausoleum fund for Tonda and Mike's final resting place together.
