Michael Frazel Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 28 to Jan. 29, 2023.
Michael Bruce Frazel passed peacefully at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, AZ on January 11, 2023.

Michael was born on February 11, 1947 in Providence, RI to Wilbur and Ruth Frazel.

After graduating from the University of Rhode Island, Michael went on to work at Kraft Foods, Research and Development, in Glenview, Il where he would meet his future wife Rosa Cepeda and spend 25 years as a Research Microbiologist. As shared by Joe Sheedy, a long time friend and ex-coworker, "Michael and I always created a work environment that was not only about doing a good job but also about having a sense of humor. Michael always took pride in performing his work to the best of his ability. It made him very proud when his work contributed to the team's success!"

Michael relished his role as "grandpa" to his great nieces Angelina and Makenna Geiger and great nephew Bryce Geiger of Colorado. He also treasured his relationship and bond with his great nephews Mason and Sean Lasseter of Mississippi. He never forgot a birthday and would always manage to find the perfect card for every occasion.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Hospice of the Valley for keeping Michael comfortable during his last days with us.

In keeping with Michael's wishes and his lifelong love of scientific research, he donated his body to Research for Life to help advance future medical initiatives.

Michael is survived by his ex-wife and good friend Rosa Frazel, nieces Kelly Geiger (Jay) of Highlands Ranch, CO; Cheryl Frazel (Michael) Lasseter of Brandon MS; Laura Frazel (Steve) Dulski of Fallston, MD; Heather Frazel (Chuck) Sacco of Sudbury, MA, and brother Steve Frazel (Midge).
