KOVACIC
MICHAEL HARVEY
Of Cranberry, PA, died on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at the age of 32. Michael is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Traci; two beautiful children, Josie and Calvin; his mother and father, Joe and Lynn Kovacic, of Allison Park; his sister, Karen (Tom) Urschler of Wexford; his brother, Joe (Natalie) Kovacic, of Pittsburgh; his in-laws, Phil and Susan Lewerth of Wexford; his sister-in-law, Tara Lewerth (Braden Kern); four adoring nieces and nephews, Owen, Aiden and Addison Urschler, and Joey Kovacic; his beloved dog, Kozmo; several cherished aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends who he loved like family. Mike had a huge smile that lit up every room he walked into. Everyone was drawn to his unmistakable laugh, his sense of humor, and he seldom left a room without leaving everyone smiling with him. He was one of the most caring people any of us knew. A graduate of North Allegheny High School and the University of Dayton, Mike's personality was larger than life. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. His favorite memories growing up were those he spent playing football with his brother, Joe, traveling with his family, skiing with his dad, and spending time with a dear, close group of friends he grew up with, and remained close to until the day he died. He had more friends than any one person needs, because he was a genuine friend to every person he knew. He was selfless and generous and put his family and friends above anything else. Mike loved skiing in Colorado, where he lived for five years, and where he was reunited with the love of his life, Traci, in 2008, and married in 2011. They were a happy couple whose relationship inspired everyone around them. He always said the best part of his day was coming home to his wife and two children and spoke often, to anyone who would listen, of how lucky he was to have them. He was a devoted son to his parents, who loved him dearly, and he would call just to tell them he loved them. A loving uncle to his niece and nephews, when Uncle Mike walked into the house a parade of children always welcomed him. Kids loved Mike because he was a lot like them - vibrant, full of energy, and always fun. Reducing Mike to words is impossible because he truly was one of a kind. He brought joy to everyone he met. We are all better for having known him, and his love for life and his family are something that we will never, ever forget. There will be viewings on Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHELLHAAS & SONS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 1600 Stone Mansion Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sweden, 2554 Wildwood Road, Allison Park, PA 15101. Please meet at the church. October 28, 2015

Dear Mike,

I had a crush on you my senior year at NA...but i was so insecure, i never thought you would have noticed me, so i admired you from afar and let my fears keep me from saying hello. Now, i gently kick myself for letting my self-hatred keep me from a possible fun friendship with you, as it's obvious from all the wonderful things written about you that you were a really cool, down-to-earth, accepting and loving dude!

I only knew you as an acquaintance, or through our mutual friends in this lifetime, so it is evident our real friendship will begin on the other side of heaven, where you now reside with so many of my loved ones who've departed far sooner than anyone would have wished...

Oh Mike, i'm so sorry I didn't have the courage back in our teenage years to really get to know you. I missed out on so much...

HOWEVER, i do have pieces of your legacy to share with your loved ones from our years in elementary school at Hosack (you were such a goofball! I'm so glad I have the event on film!!) Perhaps your mom, dad, brother and sister don't even recall the event that I have recorded from your 4th grade year at Hosack. But soon, they will have an extra piece of the beautiful tapestry of your brief life in their hands to add to the celebration of your amazing, full, and joy-filled life :)

Even though you don't walk on this earth physically to hold the hands and hearts of your beautiful wife, kids, and parents, siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews and all the others who loved you, your legacy will live on.

Despite only a casual connection between us, i am honored to help spread the love and joy you shared while on this planet.

See you in heaven when my time arrives. Say hi to my Dad...I'm sure you two are having an AMAZING time right now being FULLY alive together, even more so than you ever could dreamed while on this earth. It's silly to even say it, but enjoy the freedom of REAL life with all those who've gone before you...I look forward to joining the heavenly party when it's my time to go home as well.

You made an impact on the lives of so many who didn't even know you...THANK YOU for being a channel of love to a world so desperately in need of it...you will be missed.

Love,
A person from your childhood/teen years

I started at PwC with Mike. He was a amazing guy that would do anything for anyone. Even through the hard times at PwC, he always had a smile on his face. The world has lost a great man. Words can't explain the loss. Thoughts and prayers go out to Mike's family and friend.
