Phenix City, AL- Dr. Michael Lake, 70, of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Skip Speed officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Dr. Lake was born December 24, 1947 son of the late Lloyd E. Lake and Sarah Appleby Lake. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Dr. Lake graduated from the University of Richmond and then attended medical school at the Commonwealth Medical College of Virginia. He has been a partner in Rice and Lake Urology for over 30 years. Additionally, he is member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Smiths Station, AL, where he taught Sunday School.
He is survived by his loving wife Sherry Lake of Phenix City, AL; children, Elsa Lake Aikia and husband Ryan of Charlotte, NC, Michael Lake, Jr. and wife Kendra of Rockledge, FL, Hayden Lake, Logan Lake and Noah Lake, all of Phenix City, AL; one sister, Pat L. Nielsen of Dothan, AL; grandchildren, Addison, Abbie, Maggie, Trey, Macy and Marley; several other family members and friends.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to your favorite charity in memory of Dr. Michael Lake. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Gary Dillard for his love and friendship. The family would also like to express sincere appreciation to Dr. Akram Ibrahim and staff for their compassion and kindness during this difficult time.

Dr. lake was a kind gentleman who treated my Dad and myself. He was professional and had a great since of humor. I spoke of him Tuesday, and Tuesday night read his obit. I am sorry for your loss and trust that comfort will come from the memories you share.
