Michael (Mike) Molden, beloved husband of Joan passed away with peace and grace at the Southwood Care Center, Tuesday June 27, 2017 at the age of 85. Mike was a wonderful father to both daughters, Lynn and Diane and his sons-in-law, whom he regarded as his own, Dave and Peter. He was the grandfather of four, Rachel (James), Jessica (Kieran), Shannon (Ryan) and Mason; as well as two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Vivian. Mike was predeceased by his son, James Douglas and grandchildren, Eric and Erin. Mike's enthusiasm and zest for life will be missed and never replicated. The master of one-liners and a wit as sharp a razor, he considered everyone to be his best buddy. He never encountered a problem he couldn't solve, a Master Electrician by trade; he believed he was proficient at every profession from auto mechanics to zoology. Our family could not begin to list all the nurses, therapists, physicians, friends, care workers and volunteers who made Mikes last years fulfilling. Thank you. Mike will be profoundly missed those who knew him. We would like to especially thank everyone involved in Mike's care at the Southwood Care Center and Dr. Albuquerque. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church (1414 Shawnessy Boulevard S.W.) on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow at Funeral Home. However, Mike would also encourage you buy something for yourself and your family to enjoy while thinking of him. In living memory of Michael Molden, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
