Michael Moran Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 19, 2024.
Michael Edward Moran was born September 19th, 1968 in Portland, OR, and died on October 9th, 2024 in Vancouver, WA, due to complications from chemotherapy. He spent the first 8 years of his life in Ridgefield WA, before moving to Woodland. As an adult he remained in the area (Woodland, Ariel, Cathlamet), except for a brief trial of life in Oklahoma. He spent his final years at home in Ariel, WA.

Mike loved the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, and camping were some of his favorite pastimes. He was a well-respected and well-liked member of the logging community. He was known for his easy-going personality, his sense of humor, his almost constant smile, and his willingness to help in any way he could. He was a great man and a good friend.

Mike was a man of faith and loved God. Even during his illness, he shared scripture with those around him. His faith never wavered. He was even an ordained minister.

Most of all, Mike loved his family and friends. He loved being a husband, a father, and a Papa. He was also a beloved son and brother. He is survived by his wife Janet Moran, sons Bill Moran (Yelly) and Levi Moran, mother Joella Powell (Dan), brother Robert Moran (Anna), sister Kim Moran, along with grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and many, many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who know him. He is preceded in death by his dad, Everett Moran, siblings Boneta Johnson, Richard Moran, and Sharon Moran.

He is laid to rest at Lone Pine Cemetery, Ariel, WA, in the valley he called home. Arrangements were made by Woodland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help with honoring Mike's final wishes

Although his life in this two legged world is done, my those that come before us greet him with loving arms and guide him through all that there is to learn in his spiritual one. He was funny, smiled uncontrollably, as little brothers are he could be a pain in the butt. He was quick to help others out when a hand was needed. Told silly stories down at mosh camp. I moved way and lost contact with the family I had come to love dearly and came back to learn the news that he had passed away. So many good times with his family to even mention, but know he was loved by so many. I was lucky to call him a friend. Best wishes on your new journey... Brenda Ward
