Michael Myers Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 18, 2025.
Massillon - Michael Andrew Myers, 34, of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2025, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton.

Born January 7, 1991, Michael was the beloved son of Brooke (Steven) Hackmann and A.J. (Megan) Myers. A proud 2009 graduate of Washington High School, he was known for his fearlessness, humor, and big heart.

Michael served with honor in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Class. From 2009-2013, he was active duty infantry with the 101st Airborne Division, including a deployment to Kandahar, Afghanistan. After the birth of his first daughter, he became a Drill Sergeant and continued serving in the Reserves until 2020. His service was one of his greatest sources of pride.

On May 12, 2011, Michael married Lora (Huffman) Myers. Together they raised two daughters, Lottie and Mia, who were the light of his life. He was a devoted father who lived for his girls.

Michael loved sports, the outdoors, storytelling, and his people. He had a contagious laugh, a soft spot for animals-especially his service dog, Tobie-and a gift for making everyone feel seen and loved.

He is survived by his wife, Lora; daughters, Lottie and Mia; his parents and Kristi Myers; maternal grandparents, Gary and JuDee Reed; paternal grandmother, Becky Myers (Jeannie Tidwell); and his siblings: Nichole (Christopher) Green, Mary (Adam) Hannen, Nathan Langenfeld, Fred (Katie) Myers, Maria McCarty, Nathan Hackmann, Stacia Hackmann, and Celeste Hackmann. He also leaves behind beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends-especially his lifelong friends Nick Berbari, Cody Byer, Joe Weisend, Nick Spradling, and military brother Zach Melhorn.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 23 at 4 PM at Schmidt Hall, 501 Hall St., Orrville. Military honors and interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Save A Warrior, Mission 22, or Friends of Stark Pound in honor of Michael's passions for veteran mental health and dog rescue.

Michael lived big, loved deeply, and gave his whole heart to his family and friends. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched.

Arrangements are being handled by Auble Funeral Home in Orrville. The full obituary can be found at www.aublefuneralhome.com.
