It is with deep sadness that Mary announces the passing of her best friend and loving husband, Mike Pope. Mike will be sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, dear son Blake and daughter-in-law Jenny Campbell and cherished grandchildren Ava and Carter. Predeceased by his son Kevin. Mike had many friends who stood by him over the years, Russ, Gary, mike, Bruce and Dave. He will be missed by them and many more. Special thanks to Dr. Hurdon, the Carefor nurses who helped with his care while he was at home and extended gratitude to the nurses and volunteers at Hospice at May Court. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road
(between Bayshore Drive and Baseline Road) on Friday, June 15, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, June 16th at 11 a.m. followed by burial at St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery, Stittsville. In memory of Mike, donations may be made to the Hospice at May Court, 114 Cameron Ave. Ottawa K1S 0X1

I recall meeting and chatting with Mike at a wedding a few years ago. We had a great chat and he was very proud of you Blake as a young Constable with OPS. When Jenny came into the picture, the future seemed that much brighter. So sad to lose him so early on. He served Nepean and Ottawa Fire Depts proudly over 35 years and seems always too soon that these heroes are taken by God so early. He'll keep watch from above now, and will always be with you in spirit. My condolences and prayers are with you all.
