Michael James Power

Michael James Power, a beloved husband, brother, grandfather, and friend passed away on November 17, 2024, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 65. Born on June 28, 1959, in Philadelphia, Michael was raised in the Oak Valley section of Deptford Township. He was a graduate of Deptford High School, Class of 1977.

Michael was the cherished husband of Denise Roman, with whom he shared nearly 25 happy years. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles P. Power and Margaret A. Power (nee Barry), his brother Charles P. Power, and his stepson Daniel. He will be dearly missed by his sister, Sharon Burke (William), as well as his stepson Pedro Colon, and his beloved grandchildren Luis Daniel Perez, Yalies Colon, Glen Colon, and Matthew Colon. Michael also leaves behind his nephews, Charles Power, Shawn Power, and Shane Kellum, along with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

A man of many passions, Michael had a deep love for music and sports, loved attending concerts, and was a devoted fan of Philadelphia teams. He found great joy in spending time with friends, enjoying good food, and embracing the beauty of the outdoors. Known for his great sense of humor, Michael was a kind and thoughtful individual who touched the lives of many with his warmth and generosity.

Michael's life was a testament to the power of laughter and love, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the moments shared with him.

A private memorial service will be held to honor Michael's life and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of those who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice in Michael's memory.
