Michael Stout Obituary

In Loving Memory: Michael David Stout (January 20, 1972 - November 15, 2023

It was early on the morning of November 15, 2023, when our family experienced the irreplaceable loss of Michael David Stout. Mike, born on a chilly January day in 1972 to Michael W. and Carolee Stout in Denver, Colorado, grew into a man known for his boundless joy, sharp intelligence, and endless kindness.

Mike spent his early years in Aurora, Colorado, soaking up every bit of knowledge and experience he could. He later moved to England, where he continued his education at Greenham Common High School in Newbury. His academic journey didn't stop there; he pursued higher education at Florida Atlantic University and at Ricks College in Idaho. There, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's degree in Information Technology, showcasing his passion in these fields.

Mike's interests were as varied as they were deep. He loved the challenge of a good chess game, the thrill of a well-executed magic trick, and the satisfaction of solving a complex coding problem, fixing up an old car, or diving into a favorite book. Mike Stout served a mission in Phoenix, Arizona, and continued his lifelong commitment to the Church. His dedication was evidenced in over 19 years of service with the LDS Church, a testament to his faith and his unwavering desire to help others. His dedication further extended to the fulfillment of several Church positions including Temple Ordinance Worker, two Bishoprics, and his personal favorite, Gospel Doctrine Teaching.

At home, Mike was a pillar of love and laughter and he leaves behind a family who cherished him. He shared 24 beautiful years of marriage with his wife, Denise, since their wedding day on March 13, 1999. As a father to Ashlie, Michael, Cameron, Makenna, and Kaitlyn, Mike was the epitome of what every child hopes for in a parent: loving, fun, and profoundly wise. His departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family, including his parents, Michael W. and Carolee Stout, and his siblings Christine, Nathan, Shana, Joseph, Melanie, Aaron, and Kathryn, as well as their respective spouses. His cherished wife, Denise Stout, their children, and his three brothers-in-law, their spouses, and his surviving mother-in-law, all hold a piece of Mike's enduring spirit within them. His infectious laughter, sage wisdom, and comforting warmth will forever be a part of their lives.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Mike's life on Tuesday, November 21st, at 11:00 am at the LDS meeting house located at 1327 W 5550 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84123. This service is not just a farewell; it's a tribute to the incredible joy and light Mike brought to our lives. Following the internment there will be a family luncheon and then a Celebration of Life. This will be an opportunity for friends and family to come together, share fond memories, and celebrate the wonderful moments we shared with Michael David Stout. It's a time for us to connect, reminisce, and honor Mike's enduring legacy in our lives.

16 years ago Mike guided me through a gauntlet of interviews for a position I was applying for on his team. Since then, there have been many opportunities and hallway conversations where I have thanked him for his leadership and friendship. He is a good man and I will miss those interactions.

Denise & family - I was shocked and saddened to find this notice. I was not aware Michael had passed. Though we had lost touch, as too
often happens with age, Michael, along with all of his siblings hold a special place in my heart.
Much love to you. May you be comforted through happy memories and the blessings of eternal families.

As a coworker with Mike, I remember him as one who would take an entire day off work to focus that day on each of his kids when it was their birthday year after year. His desk at work always had a bowl of candy, encouraging stop-bys and visits. He had a big laugh. He was dedicated and thorough with his work. Mike will be missed. May the Comforter be with the Stout family during tender and difficult time.

Sending prayers of comfort and peace to the family at this time.
Mike was a wonderful mentor and boss that grew into a friend during my work with him. He took a chance on me and continued to mentor and incest in me when he didn´t have to.
I enjoyed our many conversations, debates and times of poblem-solving with Mike. His positive and caring energy in the world will be truly missed!

I remember taking him and the boys to Crystal Hot Springs on one of our campouts, and he brought Jiffy Pop to pop in the fire. That was a huge hit!
